Alachua County Homestead Exemption Information

 

Requirement Summary

 

  • At least one owner, indicated on deed, must be residing on the subject property as of 1/1/2003.

  • Must bring copy of deed (if you have it) and file at Alachua County Property Appraisers Office at Administration Building, 12 SE 1st Street, first floor, before March 1, 2003.

  • Must present social security number and drivers license with copy of deed (if you have it).

  • If married couple living on property, only one needs to be present but must have both social security and DL #'s. (Do not need cards, just #'s)

  • If unmarried couple, both need to come.

  • If student and parents are on deed and live elsewhere, need parents address.

  • Certain disabilities or senior citizen status may entitle you to additional exemptions.
